22. What, then, is necessary for a Christian to believe?

All that is promised us in the Gospel, 1) which the articles of our catholic, undoubted Christian faith teach us in summary.


1) But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name. John 20:31.

Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen. Matt. 28:20.

* For the prophecy came not in old times by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. 2 Pet. 1:21.

* And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus. 2 Tim. 3:15.
