58. What comfort do you receive from the article "life everlasting"?

That, inasmuch as I now feel in my heart the beginning of eternal joy, 1) I shall after this life possess complete blessedness, such as eye has not seen, nor ear heard, neither has entered into the heart of man,2) therein to praise God forever.3)


1) For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed upon with our house which is from heaven; if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 2 Cor. 5:2,3.

2) But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard neither have entered into the heart of man, the thing which God hath prepared for them that love him. I Cor. 2:9.

3) And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom thou hast sent. John 17:3.

* And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body. Rom. 8:23.

* Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory. I Peter 1:8.
